How to Install MIUI 9 On OnePlus 3 and 3T | Android 7.0 Nougat

OnePlus and Xiaomi is known to make premium smartphones affordable for everyone at relatively cheaper prices. Smartphones users consider OnePlus to be a replacement for Samsung and iPhone while Xiaomi has taken over the budget smartphone market. You might be aware of the fact that Xiaomi recently launched the highly anticipated MIUI 9 which is based on Android Nougat 7.0. It has already rolled out the update for several Xiaomi devices and users are extremely happy to use MIUI 9.

MIUI 9 is a marked improvement over the stock Android version Xiaomi devices come with. The performance, battery life has improved remarkably while the overall user interface has undergone huge changes for good. It comes with built-in themes which let you customize the user interface in totality starting from colours to icons. Apart from that, there are exciting features of Android Nougat 7.0 where you can open dual apps, reply to notifications without opening the app, scrolling screenshots and much more.

Pre-Requirements

• Make sure your OnePlus 3 or 3T has the bootloader unlocked.
• Make sure you have installed a custom recovery like TWRP Recovery on your device before proceeding.
• Keep the battery charge to 60% at least.
• Take a full backup of all the device data as everything will be wiped out in the process.

Steps to Install MIUI 9 on OnePlus 3 and 3T

Step 1. Hope you have downloaded the appropriate ROM file for your device on your computer. Now, transfer the file to the internal storage on a OnePlus smartphone.

Step 2. Switch off your device and reboot into TWRP recovery mode. For that, you have to hold the Power and Volume keys simultaneously for a few seconds until the TWRP recovery screen appears.

Step 3. Navigate to Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache option on the screen by Volume keys and select it by pressing the Power button. Everything will be wiped out.

Step 4. Go back to the main menu and select Install option. Then select the ROM file that you transferred to the internal storage.

Step 5. Swipe to initiate the installation process.

It could take some time. Once done, reboot your device manually and start using MIUI 9 on your OnePlus 3 or 3T.
