WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.19.3: Changelogs
As we all know that most of the app and games are specially developed for iOS devices at first then for Android. The WhatsApp team at first started working for Face ID and Touch ID for iOS and now they have started working on fingerprint authentication feature for Android. However, the iOS devices haven’t received that update yet due to some development issues. But hopefully, it will be started rolling out soon to iOS devices.
1. Fingerprint Authentication Feature:
The new fingerprint authentication feature will be available on Android via WhatsApp ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy’ section. It will exactly work as an iOS version in terms of the usage. So, the user will have to authenticate the identity everytime in order to open and access the WhatsApp from the home app icon, from the notification or from the external pickers. That means the app will be completely safe from any third person user. The user doesn’t need to set any app locker for the particular application. This feature is in works currently for the Android version and will be available soon in a few weeks or months. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow or above version running and having a dedicated fingerprint sensor device users can use this feature.
2. New Audio Picker Feature:
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working to improve the Audio Picker section to send audio files to the contacts. It will support the audio preview and image preview of the audio files (if any). The user can send maximum 30 audio messages at a time. But this feature will also be introduced later.
3. General Improvements:
The WABetaInfo also mentioned that the developers are trying to fix some issues with the stickers. In this case, the device battery saver mode sometimes blocks the WhatsApp to access sticker apps. Sometimes it also blocks users to send the stickers.
