The Moto G and E Series are finally here, which means that at some time, the Z series would also make their way. The Z series would continue with the Moto Z3 Play and the regular Z3 this year.
The Z3 has been the subject of some leaks in the past few months, and this time, we are getting a look at a leaked image render of the device.
The Moto Z3 Play would be sporting a glass back design, though the support for wireless charging is doubtful, and dual back cameras. The Z3 would be ditching the front facing fingerprint sensor and the new housing for the sensor would be on the power button, just like the Sony devices of the past. The absence of the front fingerprint sensor along with minimalistic top bezels would allow Moto to put an 18:9 display in the front. The display would be having a resolution of 1080×2160, the new FHD and a size of 6- inch. It may be having, the now sporty face-unlock also.
Moto would also follow the trend of ditching the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Moto Z3 Play was recently spotted at the FCC, which gave further information about the internals of the device. It would be having a memory/ storage combination of 4GB/ 64GB. The device is speculated to be powered by a Snapdragon 636 SoC, personally, I would have preferred a Snapdragon 660.
The front camera is expected t be a 5MP sensor and the back ones are expected to be 12MP+8MP sensors. A 3,000mah battery would be powering the device giving it ample charge to last a complete day.
The device has the 16- pin Moto mod connector also, and it is expected that there would be support for backward compatibility of Moto Mods also, owing mostly to the fact that Moto had previously announced that the mods would be having backward compatibility for three generations of devices.
It is expected that the Z3 Play would be launched with the regular Z3, the device that would be Moto’s flagship for the year with a Snapdragon 845 processor at an event sometime this May or June.
