Qualcomm is one of the best chipsets manufacturers in the World in terms of mobile standards. There are hundreds of smartphones launched every year and most of them are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors out-of-the-box. This years flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC is the most popular and preferred mobile chipset among all currently. While other chipsets manufacturing companies like Huawei HiSilicon, Samsung, Apple are already launched their flagship 7nm based mobile processors, Qualcomm still working on it. However, the company likely to be announced Snapdragon 8150 SoC by the end of this year on December 4 most probably.he Chinese tech-giant
Snapdragon 8150 chip expected to introduce soon
According to the leaked reports, Qualcomm is set to launch Snapdragon 8150 chipset based on the 7nm process and will come with three-cluster CPU core design this year. It’s expected that the chipset will be 5G compatible with focused on AI machine-learning capabilities. The event will be held in Hawaii, a US State, on December 4 called “Qualcomm Technology Summit” and some of the Chinese press media members have already received the invitation. The invitation comes with a nice line, i.e. “Dare to be the first 5G mobile experience.”
The three-day technology summit event will also introduce some of the Qualcomm’s next future plans, upcoming 5G connectivity-enabled chipsets etc. Meanwhile, a Xiaomi VR device will also launch at this event with the Snapdragon 821 SoC reportedly. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 SoC is expected to feature three-cluster CPU core design which will be quite similar to Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980 HIAI SoC. The processor has recently been spotted on AnTuTu benchmark list scoring around 3,62,292 points which the highest score of all-time on any Android device. After that, only Huawei’s Kirin 980 chip was closer enough scored around 3,11,840 points on AnTuTu test. Then the Black Shark Helo gaming smartphone scored around 3,01,757 points powered by Snapdragon 845 chip.
Snapdragon 8150 SoC Specification Overview
Recently, the reports are coming that MediaTek will also launch Helio P70 SoC based on the 7nm process very soon. The Helio P70 will also 5G compatible and will work on Balong 5000 modem reportedly. Now talking about the SDM8150 mobile platform, the octa-core CPU will work on 01 large-core at 2.84GHz, 03 medium-cores clocked at 2.4GHz, and 04 smaller efficiency-cores will clock at 1.78GHz. While the internal GPU is expected to come with Adreno 640 which will be almost 20% higher in performance and graphics-intensity.
Till then, we have to wait for the official announcement and after that, the Qualcomm’s first 5G ready chipset powered smartphone will probably launch in early next year. Stay tuned for more info.
