How to Disable Bixby on Samsung Galaxy Devices

Since the Galaxy S8 launched by Samsung with its own Bixby Assistant dedicated button and Bixby home screen by default, users are getting annoyed. The current Galaxy S10 devices are capable of bypassing the Bixby button to any other apps. Now, there is a way to disable Bixby on Samsung Galaxy devices with some settings tricks.

Issues with Bixby Button

One of the annoying issue with the physical Bixby button. The placement of this button is very awkward and gets pressed accidentally most of the times. It’s placed on the left side of the device perfectly aligned opposite to the power button.

Another major issue with the Bixby button is that it’s not customizable. You can really can’t map any other action or apps to this button. Meanwhile, the Bixby Assistant isn’t much capable and upgraded like Google Assistant yet. So, the use of Bixby Assistant isn’t enough for any frequent or advanced users right now.

Steps to Disable Bixby on Samsung Galaxy Devices

Here are the steps mentioned which you can follow properly. There are two slightly different methods available for both the Android Oreo and Android Pie running Samsung Galaxy devices. If you’re using Galaxy S8, Note 8, or Galaxy S9 over Android Oreo-based on Experience UI, then follow the below steps.

For Android Oreo Users:

  • First, log in to your Samsung account
  • Press the Bixby button > tap on the next option
  • Enter your Samsung account details to log in or create a new account
  • Then verify account details through email id
  • Don’t allow to set option Use your biometrics for now. Just skip it
  • Tap on the next button > review the terms and conditions and tap on the next option
  • Tap the next button to complete the set up (skip adding voice)
  • Now, you’re logged into Samsung account. Let’s start to disable Bixby.

Steps to Remove Bixby Home from the Home Screen

  • Tap and hold the blank space on your device home screen
  • This will appear the menu item on the home screen
  • Now, you have to turn off the option of Bixby Home from the upper right corner
  • Your Bixby Home is disabled now.

Steps to Disable the Bixby Button

  • Open device Settings > Tap on the Advanced Features > Tap on the Bixby key
  • Then select the Double press to open Bixby from the Bixby Key

For Android Pie Users:

  • Press the Bixby button or swipe to the right on your Samsung Galaxy device home screen
  • Tap the next button
  • Select your Bixby Voice language > tap on next button
  • Then tap on Sign in
  • Enter your Samsung account details or create a new account (verify account details via email)

Steps to Disable Bixby Voice

  • Press the Bixby button > tap on the three-dot menu > tap on Settings > you will get Bixby Home option
  • Turn off the Bixby Voice option

Steps to Disable the Bixby Button

  • Press the Bixby button > tap on the Settings > you will get Bixby Home option
  • Turn off the Bixby Key option as well

You can also remove the Bixby Home (disable) from the home screen as same as previous steps. Just follow that. Now, you have successfully disabled the Bixby Button, Bixby Home, and Bixby Key altogether.
