Xiaomi released the Mi Max smartphone last year with a big screen and top-of-the-line specifications. The Mi Max smartphone from Xiaomi is also the first smartphone from Xiaomi which made the start of the bezel-less (Mi Mix) smartphone trend in the industry as the Mi Max came out with almost zero bezels on the sides. However, the top and bottom bezels on the phone were present as normal. The Xiaomi Mi Max has been considerably successful in China as well as the international markets. However, the company has been taking too long to update the smartphone to the Android 7.0 Nougat update and the users have been complaining about it on the Xiaomi forums as well.
Now, it seems as though Xiaomi has heard the plea of its users and the Xiaomi Mi Max is finally getting the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat. Xiaomi has finally kicked off the roll-out of Android 7.0 Nougat for the Mi Max, which is based on the global MIUI 188.8.131.52. The update brings a lot of changes, including a better and more efficient COU allocation strategy, new toggles for common settings in search results, as well as a new option for hiding the content of notifications on lock screen. The update also brings the May security patch and lots of improvements and under the hood optimizations. However, it’s worth noting that the update is only available for the Xiaomi Mi Max model that packs 3GB RAM.
The update has been rolled out to the Xiaomi Mi Max smartphones in China and later, the update will be available in international markets as well. However, do note that if you want to check if your phone has received the update then you can check for update on your device’s Settings app and check for the updates in the ‘About Phone’ section.
