LG, one of the smartphone manufacturers, that has been having tough times in the smartphone industry recently same as the other Android manufacturers released the latest smartphones in the LG G series and the LG V series last year. These smartphones were named as the LG G6 and the LG V30 respectively. Now, it is known that the LG V30 was known to be a hit among the LG fans whereas the LG G6’s sales were below par according to LG’s standards. Talking about both the smartphones, LG released them with Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat which was the latest version of Android available at that time.
Now, it is almost six months since the release of Android 8.0 Oreo took place when Google took the stage to announce the next version of Android. Apart from that, the next maintenance release based on Android Oreo was also released in December which was called as Android 8.1 Oreo. Now, it is known that some of Android OEMs have released the Android 8.0 Oreo update to their smartphones like OnePlus, Samsung and others whereas LG has been not yet released the update to their smartphones. We have now received information that the LG V30 on the Verizon network in the US has started to receive a major update.

This update is, in fact, the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the LG V30 and this will upgrade the LG V30 to the latest version of Android. Also, we have known that the LG G6 on Verizon network is also receiving a new update. This update comes with the February security patch and you can get the February security patch installed on your LG G6 once you install this latest OTA update. Note that the update has been rolled out on Verizon network and your device will receive the update in the coming days if you are on the Verizon network as well.
