Samsung Galaxy phones use CSC (Consumer Software Customization or Country Specific Code) to manage settings, updates, and features based on the region. These features include Samsung Pay, VoLTE, and call recording. OXM Multi-CSC is a flexible firmware option for these devices.

This guide covers what OXM Multi-CSC is, its advantages, drawbacks, and how to verify or switch it on your Samsung phone.

What is OXM Multi-CSC?

What is OXM Multi-CSC on Samsung Galaxy Phones

OXM is Samsung’s universal firmware system that bundles multiple regional codes into one software package. Unlike older setups tied to specific countries or carriers, OXM includes 68–86 regional profiles (called CSCs) in a single update.

How It Works

  • Your phone’s CSC (Consumer Software Customization) decides local settings like apps, networks, or language.
  • OXM acts as a master folder holding all these regional profiles.
  • When you see “OXM_INS” (for example), “OXM” is the base firmware, and “INS” is the active profile for India.

What it can do

  • It supports over 70+ country codes (e.g., INS for India, XEO for Poland, THL for Thailand)
  • It allows users to change their CSC without flashing a new firmware, provided the target CSC is part of the OXM group.
  • Devices with OXM firmware receive updates based on the active CSC, not the original purchase region

Key Features of OXM Multi-CSC:

  • Wide compatibility – Works across Europe, Asia, Africa, and more.
  • Flexible region switching – Change CSC to access local features (e.g., Samsung Pay, call recording).
  • Faster updates – Some regions get updates earlier than others; OXM users can switch to receive updates sooner.

Why Does OXM Multi-CSC Matter?

A. Region Features

Some features (like Samsung Pay, VoLTE, or call recording) are locked to certain regions.

OXM lets you turn on features locked to certain regions.

  • Call recording works in INS, THL, EGY.
  • Samsung Pay USA needs a US code like TMB or XAA. OXM has no US codes.

B. Faster Updates

Switch to XEO (Poland) or DBT (Germany) for early One UI updates.

C. Remove Carrier Apps

Carrier phones locked devices have extra apps.

Switch to XSG for UAE or INS for India to clear them.
