Motorola launched a huge lineup of devices last year and one of the smartphone lineups that was revived by the company was the Moto X series which was once the flagship series from Motorola. As far as the other lineups from Motorola are concerned, the company launched the Moto G series, Moto E series as well as the Moto Z series smartphones last year and the company surprised everyone by launching the Moto X4 in the third quarter of 2017. As far as the Moto X series is concerned, the last Moto X device before the Moto X4 was launched a couple of years ago named as the Moto X3.
Also, the Moto X4 was launched by the company in two different editions where one of the editions that has been launched in the US comes with Android One which is Stock Google software and hardware from different OEMs, in this case Motorola. Now, as far as the other variant is concerned, it comes with Stock Android as well but with a Motorola skin on top which is slightly different from Android One edition. Talking about the Moto X4, the device was launched with Android 8.0 Oreo in both the editions.
Now, it is time for the Android One edition Moto X4 to get a new update and this update comes with Android 8.1 Oreo for this smartphone. As far as the Android 8.1 Oreo update is concerned, it comes with minor improvements on top of Android 8.0 Oreo and it is recommended to be installed on your smartphone in order to be on the latest version of Android. Now, the update has just been rolled out by Motorola to the Android One edition Moto X4’s around the world so you should wait to get the update notification on your device. However, make sure to install the update as soon as it arrives to your Moto X4 and upgrade to Android 8.1 Oreo
