Huawei begins testing Fuchsia OS on Honor Play
Recently, the leaked reports claim that Huawei begins the Fuchsia OS testing on the Honor Play smartphones for future improvements and possibilities. The device is powered by Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC and Mali GPU. If you’re a software customization or developing enthusiast then you will definitely like Google’s Android. The developers are successfully able to boot the kernel source of Zircon’s Fuchsia OS in the Honor Play device reportedly.
So, there is a possibility to run Fuchsia OS with the Kirin 970 chip or higher processor smartphones in the future. Now the Honor Play is the first commercial smartphone to run Fuchsia OS. We can expect Huawei to be the first company to release a new firmware based smartphone or any device in near future very soon. However, Google has mentioned that it could take a few years yet to release this OS officially after testing on Huawei and Pixelbook devices. Maybe in the coming few years, Google can deliver a highly customizable, polished, and refined operating system than Android.
