Few weeks back, Essential gave its fans some mixed news which stated that they are delaying the Essential Phone’s (PH-1) Oreo update however, they are trying to make up for it by directly releasing the Android 8.1 update. The delay surely left its thousands of users disappointed but the thought of jumping directly to Android 8.1 was enough to get them excited.
After much wait, Essential has finally pushed the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update over the air and it is available for download. This new update comes with some much needed fixes like dynamic calendar and clock icons, scrolling jitter fix, and more. It also comes with the February 2018 Google Security Patch which makes it one of the first few companies other than Google to push this onto their models.
This new update comes for those users who are already running a Beta update on their device.
