Chinese smartphone giant, Huawei is the latest smartphone manufacturer to reveal the list of devices that they would be provided with the latest and the greatest Android version, the Android 9.0 Pie.
Google announced the Android 9.0 Pie, the latest iteration of its popular mobile OS earlier this month. Ever since then, the manufacturers have started issuing statements regarding which devices in their lineup they would be giving the Android update to. We’ve already seen the likes of manufacturers like Vivo, Sony, HTC make announcements. Along with them, Nokia mobile licensee, HMD Global has confirmed for the umpteenth time that their entire late of devices would be getting the Android 9.0 Pie update. Some manufacturers like Essential have even rolled out the update to their devices.
Huawei has started the testing of Android 9.0 Pie update for its smartphones. The current VP of Huawei’s mobile division has revealed that the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the Huawei P20, the Honor 10 and the Honor V10 smartphones are currently undergoing a soak test for the Android Pie based update.
The update is currently undergoing an internal test only post which an open beta programme would rollout out, the culmination of which would lead to the rollout of the stable update to the masses.
Since Huawei uses their custom- ROM in their devices, the EMUI 9.0 would be the OS that would be based on the Android 9.0 Pie.
