YouTube Originals provides a bunch of original stories and conversations videos on YouTube. As of now, you can only watch those programs in real-time, if you pay for a YouTube Premium account, costs $11.99 per month.
But in the near future, this business strategy will change and YouTube Originals will be free for everyone to watch, recently confirmed by YouTube’s Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl. This news has been shared by TechCrunch blog at first.
Meanwhile, if anyone doesn’t pay for YouTube Premium account, YouTube will push advertisements during YouTube Originals streaming. It will be just like the normal YouTube video ads. Additionally, the shows will only become free to watch for a limited period of time then it will be featured with the paywall system.
Kyncl said, “While each and every other media company are racing to put their content behind the paywall, we’re headed in the opposite direction by making our YouTube Original content available for free,” at YouTube’s annual Brandcast event.
