Xperia XZ Premium is the latest smartphone that has been launched by Sony in the recent times. The XZ Premium is also the latest flagship smartphone from the company and the smartphone has been available for sale in different markets. The Sony Xperia XZ is receiving an Android update now and this will be the first update ever for the phone as the phone has just been released by the company.

This updates the handset with the latest 1 June 2017 Android security patch. Build number 45.0.A.5.1 has been released a number of regions, but there are also a couple of other firmware versions released concurrently with the same Android security patch. The update contains various performance improvements, stability upgrades and fixes for few bugs and issues present in the previous build. This includes build number 45.0.A.5.6 for the single-SIM Xperia XZ Premium (G8141) released in Korea and version number 45.0.A.5.8 for the dual SIM version (G8142) in Taiwan. No other big changes are included in the update. If you haven’t already received the update notification yet, try checking in Settings » About phone.

Also, the update has been released as an OTA update so the update should be arriving in your phone in the coming days as it is a staged rollout and the update has not been made available for all the devices at a time. Before downloading the update, ensure that your device has sufficient charge of at least 50% and download the update over WiFi so as not to incur any additional charges. But more importantly, back up all of your important data, files etc. safely onto your PC in case the installation process gets stuck. Also, take note that the update is of utmost importance as it contains the June security patch so make sure to download the update as soon as it comes to your phone.
