The Xiaomi Mi A2 will launch in India on August 8 officially. This one is the much-awaited successor device of the previous generation Mi A1 device. But here is a catch that the company might not launch the 4GB/32GB variant in India as of now. Xiaomi India is focused on mainly 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant just like before. There is some rumor that Xiaomi will launch 6GB/128GB model as well. However, there is no MicroSD card expandable option in Xiaomi Mi A2.
On Tuesday 24th July, this week, Xiaomi launched the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite smartphones in Spain as a Global launch. The handset will be available in Gold, Black, Rose Gold, and Lake Blue color variant. This time there is no metal grey or rose gold option available by Xiaomi in Global variant. Whereas, the Global version of Xiaomi Mi A2 supports QC 3.0 option. But as per Gadgets360 post, we can expect the Quick Charge 4.0 support in Indian Mi A2 variant. The fast charging feature can deliver up to 5 hours of juice in just 5 minutes of charging.
Previously, the Xiaomi India Head, Mr. Manu Kumar Jain, posted on Instagram that the Xiaomi Mi A2 will launch in India on August 8. We can also call that the Mi A2 is a rebranded version of Xiaomi Mi 6X.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Specifications and Features
First of all, it is very clear that the device will come in only dual-SIM support. It doesn’t have any MicroSD card slot. The handset features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD 18:9 aspect ratio display protected with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 out of the box. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU and 4GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB variant.
This handset sports a dual rear camera setup of a 12MP+20MP sensor and a single 20MP selfie sensor with LED flash. The Primary 12MP sensor comes with the Sony IMX486 with the f/1.75 aperture (1.25µm pixels) and the 20MP secondary sensor comes with the Sony IMX376 with a f/1.75 aperture with Super Pixel Technology. The front has a single 20MP selfie shooter with Sony IMX376 sensor and f/1.75 aperture lens.
The device packed with a 3,010mAh battery with 5V/2A charging. It runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo with Android One platform out of the box. The smartphone includes connectivity options like USB Type-C port, IR Blaster, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Miracast etc. There is no 3.5mm audio jack in this device. The device features all the major sensors. It measures 158.7×75.4×7.3mm and weighs around 168 grams.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi A2 in Spain priced at Euro 249 (Rs.20,000 approx) for the 4GB/32GB variant and the 4GB/64GB variant priced at Euro 279 (Rs.22,000 approx). The higher variant of 6GB/128GB model priced at Euro 349 (Rs.28,000 approx). However, it is expected to launch at a much lower price in India to compete for other mid-range budget smartphones and replace the Mi A1.
