We have known that the latest version of Android which is the successor to Android 7.0 and 7.1 Nougat has been released by Google just last month. This announcement was made by the company at its headquarters on the eve of the biggest eclipse in almost 100 years in the United States. The next version of Android has been named as Android 8.0 Oreo and it is available as an update to the Nexus and Pixel devices running the developer preview of Android O and is also available for the Pixel devices whereas the Nexus devices are still left out of the Android O update.
Now, we have also seen many flagship devices getting launched this year from the various companies and one such device is the LG G6 from LG which was launched at the MWC in Barcelona this year. This smartphone was the first flagship smartphone to be launched with a bezel-less display and the smartphone has been selling quite well in the international markets but it is also facing some stiff competition from the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Now, the Android 8.0 Oreo update has arrived on the LG G6 and this is possible if you install LineageOS 15 on your device.
Talking about the LineageOS rom for the smartphone, the rom has been made available by independent developers who have been working with the LG G6 and the LineageOS team has not officially released the ROM. However, the rom is currently stable enough to use for daily use but you should expect bugs here and there as it has not been given official status for a reason. Now, in order to proceed with the installation of this rom on your LG G6, you should follow our guide to Install LineageOS on your LG G6.
