Twitter, the social micro-blogging site which has been gaining popularity ever since its launch due to its unique way has been in news once again. Twitter gained popularity due to the messages people were able to send on it. However, this was limited to only 140 characters and the company named them as tweets so a user could only tweet in 140 characters at a single time which made the website fun to look at as the messages were short and to the point. However, some people criticized this limit and had the argument that this was not enough for giving out the message properly.
Now, the company has announced a new feature which will help in lengthening the tweets from the various users on Twitter. Twitter announced that they are testing a new feature where the users will now be able to tweet in 280 characters which is double of that of the 140 character limit that is currently available. However, for those of you who want to try that out. Unfortunately, the company has announced that the feature is currently in closed beta and available to a select few users only so everyone will not be able to try it out just yet.
However, we have now received a way to turn this feature on for everybody. Make sure to follow the steps mentioned below and you will get the 280 character limit. Also, do note that the counter will still show 140 character limit but you will be able to write up to 280 characters.
