There are plenty of updates around the horizon which are taking place every day. Some of them even go unnoticed and some of those updates are the smaller updates like the performance improvements or stability fix updates which doesn’t reveal much and people know very little about them. One such update has just arrived to two of the phones, one is the T-Mobile ZTE Max Pro and the other update is the Verizon ZenPad 8. Both of this devices are receiving a new firmware update. The ZTE Max Pro on T-Mobile network is getting a new update which brings March security patch. At the same, Verizon is rolling out the most up to date Android security patch to ZenPad 8.
T-Mobile ZTE Max Pro is receiving the update as build number TMO_Z981V1.0.0B13 which is being seeded over the air. Other than the monthly security patch, the update also brings additional bug fixes. Most importantly it brings a fix for VoLTE E911 timer issue.
In case of Verizon ZenPad 8, the update arrives as software version V3.4.23 and also tags along Android security patch. As is the case with security patch updates, it should also bring regular bug fixes and system improvements.
Before going for the update, ensure that your battery is fully charged and connect your device to a Wi-Fi network. In case you want to check for the update manually, head to Settings > About device > System updates.
It is particularly interesting to see that the T-Mobile devices are still only receiving the March security patch in the month of May which is a let down whereas Verizon is quick to give atleast regular security patches to their devices. Make sure to download the update as soon as it hits your devices as the update contains security patches which have the most importance.
