After so many leaks and rumors for a month, Samsung finally launched the new Tizen OS powered Samsung Galaxy Watch. This smartwatch is way better and advanced than the last generation Samsung Gear wearables. There were some rumors that the new smartwatch could be named as Samsung Galaxy Gear S4. But the company officially named it as Galaxy Watch.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy Watch launched on August 9 in New York at the #Unpacked event of 2018. The company also introduced Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Home Speaker, Galaxy Duo Charger with the smartwatch. This watch features the circular designed rotating bezels with almost sports type dial. The wearable comes in two different dial sizes with 42mm and 46mm. It comes with a 1.2-inch and 1.3-inch Super AMOLED always-on display with a resolution of 360×360 pixels. The display is made out of the Military-grade Corning Gorilla glass (DX+).

It’s powered by the dual-core 1.15GHz Samsung Exynos 9110 chipset coupled with 768MB/1.5GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It runs on Tizen OS 4.0 and features LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, call and text support, stress management features, analog display with an integrated touch option, water resistant etc. The 42mm dial contains 270mAh battery and the 46mm dial packed with a 472mAh battery out of the box. Both the batteries can last for almost a week on a single charge. The inbuilt heart rate sensor and fitness tracker seems quite good and accurate.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Price and Availability
The Galaxy Watch LTE with Bluetooth support model will be priced at $375 for 42mm variant and $400 for 46mm variant. Whereas, the Bluetooth-only model will cost around $330 for 42mm and $350 for the 46mm watch. The smartwatch isn’t available for the sale and it’s expected to available via online stores from September this year.
