The Realme 2 smartphone has been launched in India on Tuesday, August 28. The Realme is a sub-brand of Oppo and was launched Realme 1 earlier this year. That time the product got overwhelmed response from buyers and now the company comes back with an improved version. This time the Realme 2 features dual rear camera setup, a notch display, bigger battery, dual 4G VoLTE support, Face Unlock, Smart Unlock etc. However, the Snapdragon 450 SoC seems quite an entry-level device segment compared to the Xiaomi devices. Realme already announced that they will introduce another device in September this year.

The Realme 2 comes with the two variants of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. The base model of 3GB+32GB costs Rs.8,990 and the 4GB+64GB model costs Rs.10,990 in India. The phone will go on sale in India via Flipkart exclusively on September 4 at 12 PM. The device will be available in three colors – Diamond Black, Diamond Blue, and Diamond Red. But the Diamond Blue color option will go on sale from early October. Realme claimed that this one is the first ever notch full-screen smartphone that comes under 10K price.
There are some discount offers, additional data from Reliance Jio, and no-cost EMI options available on the purchase of Realme 2 device.
Realme 2 Specifications
The Realme 2 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ notched display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio display. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, and 32GB/64GB storage variant. The storage can be expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card with a dedicated SD card slot and a dual nano-SIM slot. The Realme 2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 UI out of the box.
This time the Realme 2 sports a dual rear camera of 13MP and a 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture lens. The front has an 8MP camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens. The front camera features the AI Beauty selfie and an 85-degree wide-angle lens. The device does have dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, MicroUSB 2.0 with OTG support, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The handset is packed with a bigger 4,230mAh battery with a 10W charger. It includes all the major sensors including the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The phone measures 156.2×75.6×8.2mm and weigh 168 grams.
