It seems, the month of October would be witness to one more mobile launch as all indications point the fact that OnePlus, the Chinese mobile giant is planning to unveil the OnePlus 6T in that month.
Earlier this day, Amazon has made the OnePlus 6T’s live on their Indian site, amazon.in. The page doesn’t provide much information other than a notify me button. There is no mention of any official launch date or pricing or any other related information.
OnePlus has released a teaser of the device also, which features none other than Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, the official brand ambassador for OnePlus. The teaser is now live on YouTube and only contains the actor saying, “What if I tell you that there is a new cooler method of unlocking your phone” which seems nothing more than an indication towards the under- display fingerprint sensor that the device is going to carry, something that even the CEO of OnePlus has already confirmed.
In India, the OnePlus Type- C Bullet earphones would be launched with the device itself. The earphones pricing is already out for a price of Rd. 1,499.
OnePlus 6T is rumored to have a water drop botch housing front display, a FullHD+ AMOLED display, once again from Samsung displays possibly with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and higher screen to body ratio than its predecessor, the OnePlus 6. The device is rumored to look like the Oppo R17 Pro, as of late OnePlus has been taking the design of their parent company’s R series devices.
Apart from that, there would be the usual flagship features like a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB version of the devices.
For the optics, there is a slight chance that OnePlus may be giving a triple- camera sensor setup in the device. Otherwise, there doesn’t seem to be much camera improvements over the OnePlus 6, with the only change being that OnePlus would be adopting the trending smart camera in its devices.
With the OnePlus 6T, the company has taken the decision of removing the headphone jack, something that is sure to receive some criticism.
OnePlus 6T is expected to sell for a slightly inflated price than its predecessor and expected global availability from Oct end.
As it has happened for the past few years, OnePlus may very well discontinue the OnePlus 6 in several places around the world.
