OnePlus has been delivering regular updates to almost all of the flagship smartphones that have been released by the company in the past few years which include the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T which were released last year and also the OnePlus 3 and 3T which were released in 2016. Now, we have known that OnePlus 3 and 3T have already been announced to have gotten their last major Android version update officially which was Android Oreo. However, it is known that OnePlus will release the Android 8.1 Oreo update to these devices as it is a part of Android Oreo as well.

Now, it is also committed by OnePlus that the devices will receive the latest security patch updates even if the major Android version updates will be stopped. Keeping up with its promise of the latest security patch updates in speedy times, OnePlus is now rolling out the February security patch update to the users of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. However, you will have to keep in mind that this update comes with the beta tag as it is released in OxygenOS Open Beta version and not the official OTA. As far as the Open Beta program is concerned, it was started by OnePlus after the launch of OnePlus 3 to test the latest update before rolling out.

As far as the latest Open Beta for the OnePlus 3/3T is concerned, the device will get the February security patch which was released last month by Google via Open Beta 32 for OnePlus 3 and Open Beta 23 for the OnePlus 3T. As soon as the Open Beta builds have been tested and the beta program results are successful, OnePlus will roll out the update to all the OnePlus 3/3T devices around the world so you will soon receive the February security patch even if you have not enrolled for the OxygenOS Open Beta program.
