Xiaomi has announced the revolutionary Mi Pay mobile payment solution in India. Xiaomi is the No.1 smartphone brand in India from a year and provides so many best budget devices. Apart from the Xiaomi Redmi devices, the custom skin MIUI also optimized for their devices. Now most of the net banking users using the BHIM UPI based mobile payment services in India. Such as Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe etc. Just like the same, Xiaomi also launched Mi Pay payment service app. Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service, Mi Pay, is currently supported by ICICI Bank and PayU. The company also invites the MIUI users to join the beta testing. So, here is the guide on how to apply for Mi Pay Beta Access.
What is Mi Pay?
The new mobile payment system will take on the Google Pay service in some aspects. The payment system will allow the users to make payments via using UPI ID or bank account. The Xiaomi Mi Pay also provides some other extra services like Bill/Recharge, DTH Recharge, Electricity Bill, Water Bill etc. However, all of these mentioned extra added features are also present in other payment solutions. Xiaomi also mentioned that the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI) has cleared the Mi Pay for larger use.

The service will soon be added to MIUI users and it will support all the leading debit and credit cards. Kindly follow the below-mentioned requirement to get eligible for Mi Pay beta access. As the solution is in beta testing mode currently, it will only support on MIUI Global Beta ROM for now.

- You must be on MIUI Global Beta ROM.
Xiaomi also claims that the new Mi Pay payment solution will be deeply integrated with its MIUI system. So the payments, contacts, and vendor details will be so easy and secure. The payment solution app will be integrated with Contacts, SMS, Scanner Apps, and App Vault section in MIUI. It will be added in a highly encrypted format within the India based cloud storage infrastructure.
Join the Mi Pay Beta Testers Program
The payment solution was launched in China in 2016. However, in China, the payment solution works on NFC to make contactless payments. The Indian version of Mi Pay is based on BHIM UPI ID and it’s an RBI regulated system to transfer money between bank accounts instantly.
How to Use Mi Pay App?
- Open the Mi Pay app
- Select the option to add a bank account
- Key in the bank account details
- Go through SMS verification for final confirmation.
- Now you’re done and ready to make payment.

The stable version MIUI Global will get the App or OTA update very soon after testing. You have to wait for the official notification. Otherwise, you can install the MIUI Global Beta from Global Stable and then you can apply for beta testing.
