The IFA Berlin has just begun and LG is out with two new smartphones, which as they happen to be are slimmed down versions of its current flagship the LG G7 ThinQ.
The devices fall under the category of affordable flagships. However, LG hasn’t refrained from putting some of their flagship features like the QuadDAC into these devices.
( And yes, they have the dedicated Google Assistant button also )
The LG G7 One
One of the smartphones announced by LG is the LG G7 One, the other one being the LG G7 Fit, the details for which can be checked here.
The LG G7 One is the first smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer to be a part of the Android One initiative of Google. The devices have a stock almost- bloatware-free version of Android along with a guarantee of timely update and at least two years of minimum OS updates.
Specifications
SoC
The LG G7 One is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, it also happens to be the first device from LG’s G series to carry that chipset.
Storage, Memory
The device has been equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
Display
It packs a 6.1- inch QHD+( 3120×1440) resolution display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display comes with the Super Bright technology also, something that was seen for the first time on the LG G7 ThinQ which would give the display a maximum brightness of 1000 nits.
Imaging
When it comes to the optics, LG has packed a 16- MP f/1.6 71- degree wide-angle camera at the back with an 8- MP front camera with a f/1.9 80- degree wide angle lens.
Software
The device comes with stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, but being a part of the Android One program, it is expected to get Android 9.0 Pie by the end of this year.
Additional Features
A dedicated Google Assistant button sits on the right of the device, which currently is not- remappable.
Furthermore, LG has provided IP 68 water and dist resistance also. The device is MIL-STD 810G certified also.
Pricing and Availability
As of now, there is no information regarding the pricing and the availability of the device. However, LG has another event scheduled at the IFA and it is expected that the information would be unveiled there.
