Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus gets Unofficial LineageOS 15.0 build

Lenovo launched the latest flagship smartphone in its Vibe series earlier this year which is the Vibe K6 Plus smartphone. In terms of the Vibe K Plus series from the company, Lenovo released the predecessor of the Vibe K6 Plus which was the Vibe K5 Plus last year. This smartphone was the flagship Vibe K series smartphone last year and the smartphone was launched with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. However, Lenovo’s tactics were criticized at that time as the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow was already released at the time of its launch and the smartphone was launched with an year old version of Android.

However, that is not all as the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has not even received the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update yet even though the Android 8.0 Oreo which is the latest version of Android has been released by Google. Thus, the only way which was left to update the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus was via the custom ROMs and thanks to the developer community behind the smartphone, the K5 Plus has received its first build which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. This custom ROM is the LineageOS 15.0 build and it is a saving grace for a phone that has not received any major updates officially from the company.
