The Huawei subsidiary brand Honor recently announced Honor 8X device in China and then on October 16 in India as well. The device comes with a bigger notch display with no extra bezels or chin at the bottom. It features bigger screen-to-body ratio display, dual AI rear cameras, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, glossy glass finish and more. The handset is running on EMUI custom skin over Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. Now the recent leaks and reports assuming that the device will soon get Android 9.0 Pie update. The rumors and reports claiming that the device will start receiving Android Pie OTA update in China from next week.
Honor 8X to receive Android 9 Pie update in China
However, there is no confirmation about the global Honor 8X device Pie update including India. But we can expect that the Android 9.0 Pie update will roll out by the end of this year in India and other countries. Huawei Honor claimed that almost 6 million Honor 8X devices already sold globally. Now talking about the Pie update, the device will get all the major features and system improvements in this update.

As we all know, Android 9 Pie update brings all new screen swipe gesture navigation, improved and redesigned UI, adaptive brightness and battery, app timer, app slices, recent menu panel, notification panel, system UI icons, Digital Wellbeing, and more. Huawei is growing rapidly based on artificial intelligence over EMUI and Kirin processors. So, we can expect that after the update, Huawei and Honor devices will perform really well. It’s expected that the update will fix a few bugs and bring system stability and improvements.
It’s worth mentioning that the device could get Android Pie beta update at first for testing in China. Then the Honor 8X device will get stable OTA update globally.

Honor 8X Specifications Overview
The Huawei Honor 8X comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display with a notch and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage variant. The handset sports a dual rear AI cameras of 20MP+2MP sensors along with a LED flash. On the front, it packs a 16MP selfie shooter which can capture AI Bokeh photos.
