Initial Rollout, Bug & Restart

Samsung initially launched the One UI 7 stable update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 on April 7, 2025, but a serious bug affecting the lock screen functionality prompted a global pause on April 14, 2025. The issue, which prevented some users from unlocking their devices, was quickly addressed, and Samsung resumed the rollout with a revised schedule. The Galaxy S23 series, originally slated for an April release, was briefly delayed to May in some regions but is now confirmed to be rolling out in select markets, with a broader release expected by the end of April or early May. How to Update Your Galaxy S23 to One UI 7

To ensure a smooth update process, follow these steps to download and install One UI 7 on your Galaxy S23, S23+, or S23 Ultra. Check for the Update:

  • Go to Settings > Software Update > Check for Updates.
  • If One UI 7 is available, you’ll see an option to Download and Install.

Prepare Your Device:

  • Battery Level: Ensure your phone is at least 50% charged or plugged in.
  • Wi-Fi Connection: Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network to download the 5.2GB update quickly.

Backup Data: Back up important data to Samsung Cloud, Google Drive, or an external device to prevent potential data loss.

Install the Update:

  • Once downloaded, tap Install Now or schedule the installation for a convenient time.
  • Your device will restart multiple times during the installation process, which may take 10–20 minutes.

Post-Update Setup:

Explore new features like the Now Bar, Writing Assist, and the redesigned camera app.

Pro Tip: If the update isn’t available yet, check periodically, as Samsung rolls out updates in batches based on region, carrier, and device variant.

With One UI 7 now live on the Galaxy S23 series in Korea and an expected rollout globally, your device is set to feel faster, smarter, and more secure. Keep an eye on your software update screen or the Samsung Members app for your region’s official notification.
