Now the company released the kernel source for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos Variant). The device already supports Project Treble out of the box. So, the developers could bring a stable custom ROM for the device very soon with Android 9.0 Pie build as well. The Snapdragon 845 powered Galaxy Note 9 users will have to wait for some time. However, the Snapdragon devices relied on the third-party tools but it’s not available for Galaxy Note 9 currently.

For developers who want to build a custom AOSP based ROM, they need to unlock the device bootloader at first via some mod or custom recovery with kernel source code. To download the source code, check the source link below and go to the ‘Mobile’ category then go to the ‘Mobile Phone’ sub-category. Search for the term – N96. You can find the kernel source for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos variant) called ‘SM-N960F_OO_Opensource.zip’.
