LG has just recently released the LG G6 which is the latest edition to the G series from the company. The company had already released the LG G4 and the LG G5 in the past years. The LG G5 didn’t do well but the LG G4 smartphone was quite decetn offering from the company. Even after two years, the company is sending out the updates to its G4 handsets on time. The update is in the form of security patch which is the latest one from May. The LG G4 handsets receiving the update are in the At&t network in U.S.
The update which is being rolled out over the air installs the latest monthly security patch. The software version of the update is H81022f which weighs 28.9MB. Although a minor one, the update is highly recommended as it brings the May security patch to your G4 smartphone as well as fixes regular bugs.
If we have a look at the update, the size of the update is not at all big with the update coming in at just 28.9 MB. The update comes with the May security patch and some bug fixes here and there but there are no significant changes after this update. The major thing to note is that the LG G4 is still running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the Android 7.0 Nougat is expected from the company.
If you own an AT&T locked LG G4, you should receive a notification about the update soon. Alternately you can check for the update by heading to Settings > About device > System updates. The update is Marshmallow based as LG G4 is yet to receive the Nougat update, which should happen sometime in the third quarter of this year. The update is highly recommended as it contains the security patch so make sure to install it as soon as possible.
