Yesterday on September 19, Xiaomi launched a couple of products including Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro etc. The Mi 8 Pro also known as Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition. Meanwhile, the company also announced Mi 8 Explorer Edition in two new color options. This is the first time when Xiaomi introduces gradient color variants. Xiaomi claimed that the in-display fingerprint sensor of Mi 8 Pro has been improved compared to Mi 8 Explorer Edition up to 29% faster and 8.8% improved recognition rate.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro comes with a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED full HD+ notched display with a resolution of 2248×1080 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM+128GB storage and 8GB RAM+128GB storage variant. The handset runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo over MIUI out of the box.
The smartphone sports a dual rear camera of 12MP+12MP sensors with OIS, PDAF, Optical Zoom, and LED flash. On the other side, the front features a single 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture wide-angle lens with AI portrait and AI Beauty mode. It also features infrared face unlock as well. The device packed with a decent 3,400mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro includes all the connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port etc. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has a transparent back same as the Mi 8 Explorer Edition but it comes in two new colors. One comes in gradient color – Twilight Gold and another is traditional Ochre Black.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro 6GB+128GB model priced at 3199 Yuan ($467 approx) and the 8GB+128GB model priced at 3599 Yuan ($525 approx). The pre-orders are started from the same day at 6 PM in China timing and the first sale will start on September 21 at 10 AM. There is no confirmation about the Indian launch yet. However, the first generation Xiaomi didn’t launch Mi 8 device in India due to some specific reasons.
