Coolpad has been a pretty minor company in India and it primarily completes in the budget-midrange segment. Now, the company has launched two aggressively priced smartphones with the Mega 4A costing just Rs.4,299 while the Coolpad A1 is priced at Rs.5,499.
Talking about the Coolpad A1, it sports a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 201(MSM8909) SoC, which is a quad core chipset clocked in at 1.1GHz coupled with the Adreno 304 GPU. This is backed up by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage which is expandable upto 64GB via microSD.
As for optics, there is a single 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter. The smartphone is juiced up by a 2500mAh battery and has all the basic connectivity features apart along with support for dual SIM cards.

In an effort to make some formidable presence in the offline market in India, we are looking forward to introduce some strongly competitive offline exclusive devices Coolpad A1 and Coolpad Mega 4A one of them. The device will offer a good value proposition to the customers and comes with all features to handle the task with absolute efficiency. We are also planning to introduce few more aggressive offline devices in next 2-3 months, in order make an expansion in the offline market through our retails partners and multi- brand outlets. We are expecting that Coolpad will be able to make a strong presence in offline market by the end of 2018.
The Coolpad Mega 4A on the other hand is the cheaper alternative of the two. The Mega 4A sports the same 5-inch display from the A1. It is powered by the Qualcomm Spreadtrum SC9832 chipset, which is clocked in at 1.3GHz. RAM and ROM capacities remain the same with the Mega 4A only expandable upto 32GB through a microSD card.
The Coolpad Mega 4A comes with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. All other connectivity specs remain the same except for the battery, which is smaller at 2000mAh. Both handsets run on Android 7.1 Nougat.
