OnePlus has already released two new flagship smartphones last year which was named as the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T where the OnePlus 5T was released six months after the OnePlus 5. As far as the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are concerned, they have some similarities as well as some differences. On the OnePlus 5T, there is a bezel-less display with a fingerprint sensor on the back whereas the OnePlus 5 has narrower bezels and fingerprint sensor on the front. As far as the OnePlus 5 and the 5T from OnePlus are concerned, the smartphones were released with Android 7.1 Nougat along with OxygenOS on top.

Now, one of the interesting things was that Android 8.0 Oreo was already released at the time of launch of the OnePlus 5T which followed with some criticism for the company for not giving their latest flagship smartphone the latest version of Android. However, both the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T received the Android 8.0 Oreo update in beta version by the end of 2017. Talking about the beta version, OnePlus has started an OxygenOS Open Beta program where users have to enrol in order to get the latest beta. However, OnePlus cautions that the beta version could have some bugs and it is not advised to install beta version on a daily driver.

Now, it is time for the latest Open Beta version of OxygenOS from OnePlus and this beta version comes with some exciting news for the OnePlus 5 and 5T users. Talking about the latest Open Beta, the Android 8.1 Oreo update has been rolled out to the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T in beta form. The OnePlus 5 gets Open Beta 6 which comes with Android 8.1 Oreo whereas OnePlus 5T gets Android 8.1 Oreo via Open Beta 4. As far as the other changes are concerned, there are bug fixes with the latest open beta build for both the devices along with improvements to gestures for OnePlus 5T as well.
