The latest version of Android was released last year and the next version of Android after the release of Android 7.0 Nougat is the Android 8.0 Oreo which goes in line with the alphabetical order that Google uses to name the latest versions of Android. Now, we have also known that the next version of Android will start with the alphabet P and this version will have the version number 9.0 as seen from the previous years. Also, we are now starting to get some news regarding the next version of Android which has been called as Android P.
According to a report that has been published by Bloomberg, the next version of Android which is known as Android P at the moment will have some optimizations for the Notch which was first seen on the Essential Phone that is powered by Google and later became mainstream with the launch of iPhone X.
Now, we have seen that Android currently does not support Notch in any way as there are text and signal bars that have been cut through due to the Notch. However, we are soon going to see Android P with support for Notch which means that we can see plenty of Android phones with Notch this year.
Apart from the Notch optimizations that will be seen Android P, it is also reported that there will be much tighter integration of Google Assitant in the next version of Android which means that we will be able to do more stuff with Google Assistant than what is currently possible once the latest version of Android gets released and the update has been rolled out by the device manufacturers. The launch of beta version of Android P is expected at the Google I/O 2018 scheduled to be held in the month of May this year from May 8 to May 10, 2018.
