Finally, the very first Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 Is Now Available For OnePlus 5 (LOS14.1).OnePlus has recently released the latest flagship smartphone from the company, the OnePlus 5 which is the successor to the OnePlus 3T released by the company last year. OnePlus has always had a reputation of being a developer friendly company as all the OnePlus phones come with a unlockable bootloader as well as the company gives warranty even if there is some damage on the phone while unlocking the bootloader or any casualty happens to the phone with the unlocked bootloader. Also, the OnePlus phones also have a very good and active developer community and all the latest and popular ROMs are available as soon as the newer OnePlus phones are released.
Same is the case this time, as well as the OnePlus 5, is now getting the LineageOS support. Although, one thing to note here is the LineageOS for the OnePlus 5 is still unofficial and the ROM has not been given the official status which means that there are some bugs which should be expected on the ROM. As far as the LineageOS 14.1 is concerned, the ROM is based on the latest Android 7.1.2 and the July security patch is also available in the ROM. As far as the LineageOS is concerned, the ROM was earlier known as CyanogenMod but the CyanogenOS, company which was maintaining CyanogenMod parted ways and the developers of the famous ROM had to change the name to avoid copyright problems.Very special thanks to koenkk, Senior Member over Xda for sharing the ROM with everyone.
As far as the features of the LineageOS are concerned, the users would get all the features of Android 7.1.2 like the split screen mode as well as the direct reply from the notifications and the doze mode which is very helpful for battery consumption.
Also, one thing to note here is the developer in his XDA post has mentioned that the ROM doesn’t support OTA updates currently so you should not try to download the OTA. You can find the XDA post for the ROM from here.

Pre-Requirements

Steps To Install LineageOS 14.1 On OnePlus 5 (Android 7.1.2 Nougat)

Step 1. Download unofficial Lineage OS 14.1 and GAPPS file from the above download section and transfer that into your OnePlus 5’s storage.
Step 2.Now Boot Your OnePlus 5 into TWRP Recovery.(For doing so, just power off your device first. Now press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together until you see the OnePlus boot logo)
Step 3.Now follow the guide linked below to safely install LineageOS 14.1 On OnePlus 5 via TWRP Recovery
Note: After Flashing the LegendROM On OnePlus 5, flash the GAPPS pack (Zip).
You can flash it from TWRP's Install Section.
Once the installation is finished, reboot your device.Your OnePlus 5 Should Boot Into Latest LineageOS 14.1.
