Xiaomi has been preparing to release the next version of MIUI which is the custom skin of Android which has been built by Xiaomi on top of Stock Android and is shipped with every Xiaomi phone. The current version of MIUI is the MIUI 8 version that is running on almost all the Xiaomi smartphones around the world. Now, the company has finally announced the next version of MIUI which is the MIUI 9. Now, as far as the MIUI 9 update is concerned, the update has already been announced to be available for almost all the flagship smartphones from Xiaomi in the Redmi series, Redmi Note series as well as Mi series.
Now, talking about the changes in the latest version of MIUI which is the MIUI 9, the next version of MIUI will have some interesting features like Image Search, Smart Assistant, and Smart App Launcher. As far as the individual features are concerned, the company has explained in detail all the new features that are coming to all the smartphones in the next update with MIUI 9. Apart from the changes, Xiaomi also announced that MIUI has been translated into 55 languages and witnessed over 2.8 billion downloads in 142 countries sice the launch of its custom skin in 2010. Talking about the smart assistant, it is same as the Shelf which is found in the latest OnePlus phones inside OxygenOS. The Smart Assistant which lets you search anything from photos to apps, text and notes
Apart from that, the Image Search features allows users to search images of person or even location by keywords. Another feature that Xiaomi has highlighted is the Smart App launcher which will come with MIUI 9. Talking about this feature, the Smart App launcher will read the context of the screen and suggest which app should be opened. This means that if there is an address or a phone number on the screen then the Smart App launcher will suggest opening Maps or Dialer.
