Verizon rolling out new update to LG G5 & G6, build VS98812B and VS98729A

LG has recently released the latest flagship smartphone for this year which is the LG G6. The LG G6 is also the successor to the LG G5 which was released last year as the flagship smartphone of 2016. Now, both the smartphones were launched in the US on all the major carriers. Among all the carriers in the US, the smartphone was also launched on the Verizon network. Now, Verizon has started to roll out a new software update to both the LG G5 and the LG G6.

Talking about the update to the smartphones, the build numbers of the software updates are VS98812B and VS98729A for LG G5 and LG G6 respectively. The software update contains the latest security patch which is the July security patch update. The update is based on Android Nougat 7.0 and doesn’t bring any change in the Nougat version. Also, there is one condition if you want to receive the update on your device which is that the smartphones should be on previous builds to get the latest update. The build numbers have also been specified which are VS98811A and VS98728B for LG G6 and LG G5 respectively to receive this update.

Now, as far as the update is concerned, the update comes out with the latest security patch which is the July security patch and the patch solves many critical bugs that were present in the device that could allow the hackers to enter the device remotely and alter the files present on the device. Now, the update has already been rolled out for the LG G5 and G6 by the Verizon network so you should receive the update on the coming days. Make sure to install the update as soon as it is available for your device to get the latest security patch for device’s security.
