Samsung has been launching one smartphone after the other. Samsung first started the launch process when the company launched the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. The company today launched the Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 in Korea which is also known as the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 in other countries. Samsung has not held down on releasing updates to its phones and now, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is getting an update. This update brings Android Nougat to the device on the T-Mobile network.
After AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile is finally rolling out the Nougat update to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus units. The Nougat update roll out has commenced as an OTA. With the unlocked Galaxy S6 Edge Plus getting bumped up to Android 7.0 Nougat two months back, followed by the locked AT&T and Verizon devices also receiving the Nougat goodies, it was high time for T-Mobile to join the league.
The carrier started testing the Nougat update for Galaxy S6 Edge Plus some time back and on completion of the test has now started releasing a stable build of the new OS. As per the changelog, the new update hitting T-Mobile Galaxy S7 Edge Plus devices installs Android 7.0 Nougat OS. And in all probability it should also include system improvements and regular bug fixes. The update arrives as software version G928TUVU4EQC6.
As the Nougat update has been made available starting today over the air, it may take some time to reach your Galaxy S6 Edge Plus device. If you are not one of those who like waiting, you can opt for a manual check by going to Settings > About device > System updates. However, we recommend you to charge your Galaxy device sufficiently and get it connected to a WiFi network before hitting the install button on your S6 Edge Plus devices.
