Sony has been preparing to release the Sony Xperia XZ which is the flagship phone from Sony for the year 2017. Sony launched the Sony Xperia XZ at the MWC in Barcelona but we have not heard from the company about the phone after that. Sony has also launched the Sony Xperia XZs at the MWC in Barcelona along with the Xperia XZ. Although the Xperia XZ Premium is scheduled to launch later, the Xperia XZs has been launched and the phone is receiving an OTA Update.
Sony’s latest high-end smartphone Xperia XZs which made its debut in February alongside the premium model Xperia XZ Premium has received its first firmware update. The update is being rolled out to Sony Xperia XZs over the air and it installs the latest monthly security patch.
The Over the air update has been arriving as firmware version 41.2.A.0.235 to the Xperia XZs, the update installs May security patch and in all probability should carry regular bug fixes and system improvements. The file size of the update is over 100MB.
Both the single SIM (G8231) and dual SIM (G8231) versions of Xperia XZs are receiving the firmware update. However, Sony is rolling it out in select regions as of now and should soon expand the release.
For those of you who own a Sony Xperia XZs and have not received the update yet. Make sure to check for the update manually on your devices by heading over to Settings > About device > System updates. This update has the most importance as the update installs the May security update which is the latest security patch from Google and solves many of the security bugs from the previous patch. Make sure to download the update as soon as it comes to your device as it is highly recommended.
