Samsung has already rolled out the June security patch to all of their devices as part of the company’s efforts to release the security patches from Google as early as possible to keep the security of their devices up to date. Now, we have seen that the July security patch was released by Google last week as well and now the company has started to roll out the July security patch to the smartphones on their network as well. This is to ensure that the device’s security stays up to date as well as the trust of its loyal customers remains intact as well.
As part of the update process, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus are now receiving the latest July security patch update. Talking about the build numbers for the respective smartphones, the software update is labeled as G950FXXU1AQG5 for Galaxy S8 and update G955FXXU1AQG5 or G955FOXM1AQG5 for Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones. Apart from the June security patch, the devices should see a performance upgrade, as well as the stability improvements, should be bundled with the update. One thing however is that the a limited number of markets are receiving the update to their Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones which include Germany, Turkey, the UK, and the UAE.
Now, if you are in the above-mentioned areas and own a Galaxy S8 or a Galaxy S8 Plus smartphone then you should be receiving the update to your smartphones as an OTA very soon as the company has already released the update in the following networks. However, you may not receive the update immediately as the update roll out usually takes some time to reach all the devices. As far as the update is concerned, the July security patch should be installed on your phone as soon as possible to keep your smartphone up to date with latest security patch.
