Samsung has started to roll out the latest security patch to their flagship smartphone which was launched last year. This smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the update to the smartphone is bundled with the August security patch. The update to the smartphone has been very quick as the August security patch was released just two days ago by Google and the Galaxy S7 Edge becomes only the second smartphone to receive the update after Nokia rolled out the update to the Nokia 5 and 6 smartphones. Talking about the August security patch, it does not bring any major changes but there have been many minor bug fixes that have been present in the update.
Talking about the roll out of the update, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is receiving the update via an OTA which will be received on the smartphone automatically. The OTA update which comes with the August security patch to the Galaxy S7 Edge comes with build number G935FXXU1DQH3. Other than that, as we already mentioned there have not been any major changes from the Jul security patch to the August security patch but there has been one issue that has been solved in the latest patch which enabled to hackers to remotely enter the device. Although, Google has mentioned that no one has been known to be affected by this issue.
Talking about the update that will come to your device, you should make sure that you are connected to a stable WiFi network so that the update can be downloaded and installed on your phone as soon as it comes to your phone. Also, make sure to take a backup of important data on your device so that you can always restore your data just in case anything goes wrong during the update installation.
