After the Galaxy J6 Android Pie update in the last week, now the Samsung Galaxy J8 is receiving Pie update via OTA in India. The Galaxy J8 Android Pie update has started globally earlier this month. Now, it’s arrived in India region officially. The update is around 1196.98 MB in download size. The update also brings the latest April 2019 Android Security Patch with some bug fixes and system improvements as well.
The latest Android 9 Pie based One UI by Samsung has been released with the firmware version of J810GDDU2BSD5/J810GODM2BSD5/J810GDDU2BSC6 models. It also brings current 2019-04 Security Patch. The update is rolling out via OTA and will soon be available for your Galaxy J6 handset as well.
However, if you want to get the faster update, you can check it manually from the device Settings -> Software Update -> Download Updates Manually. But you don’t need to do this for now. As the OTA update notification will be received within a few days or less.

The Samsung Galaxy J8 Pie update first started in Russia earlier this month. The new One UI brings a whole new user experience with the look and feel. It provides an improved navigation bar and the swipe gesture navigation control as well. New icons, themes, notification panel, etc. The One UI is specially developed for one-handed operations with a simple but fluid system UI.

The Samsung Galaxy J8 comes with a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It’s powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage can be expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
The handset sports a dual rear camera set up of a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor along with an LED flash. For selfie lovers, there is a 16MP sensor (f/1.9) front camera available. The smartphone does have an AI Face Unlock option. The handset runs on Samsung Experience UX with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. But, now the device is receiving Pie update.
The Galaxy J8 features dual Nano-SIM 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Micro-USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack, etc. In terms of the sensors, it includes accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, hall sensor, ambient light, gyro, and a proximity sensor. The smartphone sports a 3,500 mAh battery as well.
