OnePlus has recently launched the latest flagship smartphone from the company for this year which is the OnePlus 5. This smartphone is the successor to last year’s OnePlus 3/T. The OnePlus 5 has been launched in the US as well as the Indian markets and the sale of the smartphone will be open from June 27. However, OnePlus 5 was made available for sale on June 20 in the US as well as June 22 in India. OnePlus came into existence when it first launched the OnePlus One and the smartphone was known for its lower price and flagship specifications. However, the OnePlus One also came unlocked and the company was offering the warranty even with an unlocked bootloader.
The same is the case with OnePlus 5 as the smartphone will be sold unlocked as well as the company will offer warranty even after unlocking the bootloader. Therefore, the first step towards unlocking a smartphone is to install a custom recovery like Team Win Recovery Project popularly known as TWRP or ClockworkMod which is known as CWM. We are happy to report that the guys at AndroidSage have successfully ported the TWRP v3.1.1-0 for the just-launched OnePlus 5. One thing to note is that the default language is Chinese as the custom recovery is developed for the Chinese variant of OnePlus 5. Fortunately, you can change the language from Settings option in there.
