After numerous teasers on social media and much wait, HMD Global has finally released the much awaited Nokia 7.1 in India, though the launch happened without much of a fanfare or any large media launch.
The device was launched quietly by the company through their various social media handles earlier today.
Nokia 7.1 USP
The Nokia 7.1’s USP is the HDR10 compatible IPS LCD display. The device may be in fact the most affordable HDR10 display featuring mobile in the market. Furthermore, the company has provided the functionality of playing any SDR content in HDR quality also something that even some high-end flagship devices lack in today’s time. Owing to such a display, the Nokia 7.1 carries the moniker of PureDisplay also, and for the readers who remember some about the devices from the past, the PureDisplay moniker was used by those Lumia devices which had some of the best displays in the world. The company has even gone to the length to say that the device would be offering an unparalleled media consumption experience at its price point.
The device furthermore offers a high contrast ratio, 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and comes with the ability to stream HDR content from OTT players like Netflix, Amazon Prime.
Nokia 7.1 specifications
Apart from that the Nokia 7.1 carries an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC on- board and it would come with 4GB of internal memory and 64GB of internal storage. The device has a FullHD+ 5.84- inch notched display at the front with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It features a 3,060 mAh battery which can be charged by a USB- C type of connector.
Nokia 7.1 Imaging
For imaging, the Nokia 7.1 continues the ongoing Nokia- Zeiss partnership with the device carrying a 12MP and 5MP Carl Zeiss powered sensors at the back. It is contemplated with an 8MP sensor at the front of the device. The sensors come with support for Electronic Image Stabilization also.
Nokia 7.1 Software
Just like every other Nokia device of 2018, the Nokia 7.1 comes under the Android One moniker and currently comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
