Moto Z is the newest category from the Motorola company from Lenovo which was launched last year. The first smartphones from the Moto Z series are the Moto Z and the Moto Z Play and the devices were launched on the modular approach which means that the smartphone had a magnetic hinge on the back of the phone and the mods were launched along with the phone which could be snapped on the back of the phone. This mods had a wide variety ranging from zoom lens camera mod, a projector mod and many other types of mods. Moto Z and the Moto Z Play were launched last year by Lenovo and Moto Z was the flagship phone while Moto Z Play was the budget device in the Moto Z series. The Moto Z series is about to get a refresh this year and the newest phones will be named the Moto Z2 and the Moto Z2 Plus.
Now, we have some fresh rumors about the Moto Z2 Play which is the budget phone from the two smartphones. The report suggests that Motorola will pack in a 3000mAh battery underneath Moto Z2 Play which will be capable enough to provide 30 hours of usage time. This is 20 hours less than what we get from Moto Z Play. All this only to give its successor a more slim look.
Moto Z2 Play will definitely get an upgrade in other departments though. The phone will be powered by octa-core Snapdragon 626 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU. The Moto Z Play display has been retained with a major bump in storage capacity with 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM. On the imaging section, the rear camera will be of 12MP with f/1.7, dual autofocus pixels and a 5MP front camera to shoot selfies. It will be available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold and shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
