Motorola has been steadily rolling out updates to all of their devices. Motorola has also recently launched the Moto G5 as well as the G5 Plus and the company has just recently released the Moto Z2 Play as well. However, the company also launched the Moto Z as well as the Moto Z Play last year which turned out to be fairly successful for the company. Now, the Moto Z is getting the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.
The Moto Z is getting its soak test at the moment, with the update rolling out to users with the software version NPL.26.107. The new Moto Z Android 7.1.1 update brings the same changes as Nougat has brought to Moto Z Play users which include: Google’s new Duo video calling app, the June 1, 2017, security patch, along with a Moto Mods v2.0 update for the phone attachments that expand your phone’s capabilities. Some system apps are getting new icons, so there’s that as well. Apart from these things, Moto Z users are also looking at stability improvements and bug fixes, nothing unusual when receiving a major update. Moto Z users can go ahead and prompt their phones for the update if it’s not showing already by selecting “software update” in their phone settings.
One more thing to note is that because it is a software update which will upgrade your device from Android 7.0 Nougat to Android 7.1.1 Nougat, it is advisable to take a backup of your phone and wipe the device after the newest installation of the latest version of Android on your phone. Also, make sure that your phone has at least 50% of battery left on your device so that there is enough battery left after the installation of the update. Lastly, make sure to check for update and install it as soon as possible as it is highly recommended
