The latest version of Android which becomes the successor to Android 7.0 and 7.1 Nougat was released by Google in the month of August last year and it was named as Android Oreo with the number given to this version as 8.0. Now, we have known that the naming of the latest versions of Android has been traditionally done by Google on the basis of names of popular sweets and Oreo is definitely one of the most popular cookies in the world. Also, the naming has been done in an alphabetical order and we know that the name of next version will start with alphabet ‘P’.

Now, as far as Android 8.0 Oreo is concerned, Google released a maintenance update to Android Oreo last year which was named as Android 8.1 Oreo and it came with several improvements and features that were not present in Android 8.0 Oreo. Some of the features released with Android 8.1 Oreo are the inclusion of Pixel 2 launcher by default, Power-Reboot menu, Dim Navbar keys and switching of Black and White themes according to wallpapers.
