Lenovo have been quite busy contending in the budget smartphone market lately and now, the company is ready to launch it’s next handset. It is a well known fact that Xiaomi has single handedly dominated this price bracket for quite some time now and Lenovo is directly competing with the Redmi Note 5 this time around with the Lenovo S5.
After uploading the event invite, Lenovo executive Chang Cheng has teased a picture of the Lenovo S5 on Weibo. The design is pretty standard and has been implemented several times in 2017. To be more specific, it looks like a doppelgänger of the OnePlus 5T with the exact camera and fingerprint scanner locations. That said however, it comes with a red paint job and looks dope nevertheless.
Lenovo has also taken a jibe on Xiaomi and has commented that the Lenovo S5 “will be a better smartphone that the Redmi Note 5 Pro”.
To recollect, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. However, the Lenovo S5 is only expected to sport the dated Snapdragon 625 SoC and 4GB of RAM. This is quite surprising given the claims of being a better phone.
Other specs include a 5.6-inch Full HD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone will run on Android 8.0 Oreo and will include a 3000mAh battery. The handset is expected to be launched on March 20.
