Google launched the Pixel smartphones last year which were also the first ‘Made by Google’ smartphone. Along with the new Pixel smartphones, there was a new launcher which came on the phones out-of-the-box. This launcher was the Pixel launcher which is the successor to the Google Now launcher. We have also known that the Google Now launcher is no longer supported by Google. The users have waited a long time for the Pixel launcher to come to their device either by rooting their device or having some mods.
But now, the Pixel launcher has been ported by one of the senior members on XDA, known as deletescape. This launcher, created by deletescope has been named as Lawnchair. The new launcher works without any root access or customization of any sort. The launcher which is very similar to Lawnchair has some pretty exciting features like App Hiding, areChanging Icon Size and Changing Grid size bits. As far as the other features of the launcher is concerned, you can get full Google Now integration as well as Pixel-like Pill bar. Also, as far as other features are concerned, the launcher supports scrolling recognition which means that the launcher will re-open where the user left off on last use.
Also, there is a new feature on Lawnchair which is the notification badges support which is coming in Android O. This feature gives a notification on top of every app which has a new notification. Also, the launcher is available with a function for adaptive theming which means that the support for night mode could also come in the future. As far as the new launcher is concerned, the app is still in the early stages as it was released just few days back so expect to have some bugs. You can, however, install the app from XDA right now from the below source link.
