Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro gets EMUI 8.1 Beta Update with Android 8.1 Oreo: Last year, Huawei launched their two flagship smartphone Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro with first Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. But it took some time to release the Android 8.1 Oreo update in these two devices.
However, the company rolled out the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update in these two devices a few days ago. The company has already released the EMUI 8.1 Beta for the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. It features GPU Turbo technology to improve the mobile gaming experience. The hardware and software integrated GPU are really capable of handling GPU acceleration over graphics processing.
Features and Performance
As of now, the Huawei devices have only supported this feature with newer update. Hopefully, the Honor segment mobile phones will get this feature very soon. The 1.8Ghz octa-core Huawei Kirin HiSilicon 970 SoC is fully tested under GPU Turbo feature. This chipset is capable of providing overall 60 percent GPU performance and 30 percent power consumption than before. That’s a lot of improvement in terms of multi-tasking, RAM management, and longer hardcore gaming.
EMUI 8.1 Beta Availability
The EMUI 8.1 Beta is currently available for Chinese Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones. The update will only work in unrooted devices, so make sure about that before the update. It will be rolled out globally after the Chinese device testing implemented and that will take a couple of weeks as well. However, it is expected to get the stable version for global users.
Here you can find the Huawei Firmware Finder Tool. The following models will be able to join in this beta testing program:
- Huawei Mate 10 Full Netcom
- Huawei Mate 10 Mobile Custom Full Netcom Edition (ALP-TL00)
- Huawei Mate 10 Pro Full Netcom (including Porsche Design Edition)
- Huawei Mate 10 Pro Mobile Custom Full Netcom Edition (BLA-TL00)
The company last year assured that the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will get the next two years Android update. So we can also expect to get Android P 9.0 update in this year. However, the recently canceled Oreo update for the Huawei P9 device definitely makes a doubt for future Android updates.
