HMD Global, The House of Nokia, released recently the Kernel Source Code for the Nokia 5.1 smartphone. This open source code allows developers to create and modify custom ROMs and custom recovery modules for this device. The Nokia 5.1 phone launched in May this year as a budget category smartphone with stock Android experience.
Nokia 5.1 Kernel Source Code
There is an issue about the kernel source code that all of the new Nokia smartphones doesn’t come with the unlocking bootloader option or tool. The source code is licensed under the GPL (General Public License) or LGPL. However, the kernel source code for the Nokia 5.1 supports Android 8.1 Oreo version, since the device runs on the latest Google Cookies out of the box.
Here is the file link of Nokia 5.1 kernel source code. The HMD Global already published kernel source code for some other Nokia devices as well such as Nokia 1, Nokia 3, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1, and Nokia 8. Whereas, the Nokia 5.1 source code released recently.
